My Story
Ever since I was a child, I have had this indescribable love of technology.
It started when I was around 7 and I got access to the family desktop. I can remember the monstrous heavy beige CRT monitor our desk could barely support, the discoloured clunky mechanical keyboard, ball operated mouse, and of course the noisy machine that took forever to start up. At that time, I was just fascinated by what the machine could to and remember being obsessed with the sims game my parents brought me.
It was when I was around 11 and got my own laptop in secondary school, I began to see the true love I had for technology. How easy I found it to use, and the things I could do with it.
I can remember one day in science class my teacher did a powerpoint quiz in the style of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and that was when I saw the true creative side of my laptop and was obsessed. It was then I began to do my own powerpoint quizzes utilising animations, objects, sounds and text effects to create the most fun quizzes.
Unfortunately, whilst there was a photoshop class in school I took for one year, it was an extra curricular activity and there were no classes within the curriculum, subconsciously making me believe it was just a hobby and not a viable career choice. That meant having no forms of digital design to choose as a GCSE, I didn’t consider graphic design as a career choice and looked to something else creative……. Music which I studied all the way up to Middlesex University studying a BA in Jazz.
It was halfway through studying for my BA, I decided that a music career wasn’t for me and that I wanted one in graphic design. That was when I began to realise the talents I had in that field and began the journey which has lead me here.
